the luse-o'hara foundation was created to honor the lives, wisdom, and service leadership of our fathers, david luse and michael o'hara. both passed away at 50 years old, david from heart failure and mike from multiple myeloma.

for a long time, we struggled with how best to truly honor their incredible lives of service. our fathers taught us that it is a privilege to give; that we come to expect more from ourselves when we seek to live a life that directly benefits others.

our fathers shared-values brought them together in 1998. they joined a group of climbers united by the same goal: climb mount kilimanjaro to raise money for the children at the ronald mcdonald house. these same values brought us together years later.

we first considered the idea of climbing mount kilimanjaro to follow in their footsteps; however, as we were taught, and we truly believe, it is not about us. It is about serving a greater good.

children are the most innocent and vulnerable of society. the luse-o’hara foundation was created to support organizations and initiatives that directly improve the health, well-being and lifestyle of children coping with life-threatening illnesses.

the ronald mcdonald house and mount kilimanjaro first brought our fathers together. in september 2014, We climbEd mount kilimanjaro in a fundraising effort that raised $40,000 for the ronald mcdonald house.

to date, we have since taken On similar challenging endeavors and have partnered with other organizations to raise money through fundraising efforts that will provide monetary support to organizations and initiatives that will directly improve children's lives.

our fathers played an integral role in shaping our lives. our hope is that the foundation will have an impact on future generations.
